Roseland was a beautiful community. It had everything, the shopping on the avenue, 3 movie theaters, Palmer Park and Fernwood Park, 2 bowling alleys and 3 Little League fields.
Fenger always had competitive sports teams. I cherish the days playing baseball for Fenger and the friendships I made in high school

I graduated from Valparaiso University in 1963 with a BS in PE. I was named 1st team All-America in baseball that year and signed a contract with the Minnesota Twins. I went to spring training in '64 with the Chicago White Sox. My career was shortened by an injury. The next 38 yrs were in banking/finance/mortgages.

I have 9 grandchildren living in Mpls/StP (6 boys, 3 girls). I am very proud of my children. They are all professionally employed and great parents. I look forward one day to watch one of my grandsons play baseball in the major leagues. (Maybe 2)
