Sonja Knudsen Schneider 1940 - 2016
Sonja T. Schneider nee: Knudsen age 75. Beloved wife of Richard Schneider, Loving mother of Sonja (Scott) Pearl, Richard Schneider, Kirsten (Dave) Evenhouse and the late Chris Schneider. Cherished grandmother of Matthew, Nicholas, Mitchell, Christian and Elisabeth. Dear sister of Roy (Joan), Chris (Sharon) and Fred (Cathy) Knudsen. Sister in law of David (Marion) Schneider. Fond aunt and dear friend of many died on July 23, 2016.

I remember Sonny, as we called her, fondly. She, Gretchen van der Sterre, and I and maybe one or two more girls would go to the beach on Lake Michigan and barbecue ourselves. Senior year, Sonny and her date doubled with my date and me for Homecoming. We had a great time. In fact, there's a funny story about that. As I recall, Sonny's parents were immigrants from Denmark. My dad's first language was Norwegian, which is quite similar to Danish. One day when she was at my house he said something to her in Danish, which she appreciated.
So many wonderful memories. Rest peacefully, dear Sonja. My condolences to your family and loved ones.
