Carol Jean Collins of 83 S. Second St., Greenville, formerly of Transfer, passed away at 9:38 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, in UPMC Horizon in Greenville. She was 73.
Mrs. Collins was born May 2, 1938, in Chicago to Lew and Jean Graff Danahey.
She was a graduate of Fenger High School in Chicago and a homemaker.
Carol loved the Lord and was a member of First Assembly of God, Hermitage. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and watching old movies.
Carol was married to Patrick Collins Sr. on Dec. 2, 1961; he preceded her in death March 20, 1988.
She is survived by: her longtime companion and fiancé, Lamar McCartney, at home; three sons, Patrick Collins and his wife Sandra, Mountain House, Calif.; Kevin Collins, Weatherford, Texas; and Brian Collins, Warrenville, Ill.; a daughter, Debbie Collins, Greenville; a grandson, Kevin Collins Jr. and his wife Katherine; and two great-grandsons, Christian Michael Collins and Gavin Dennis Collins, all Corpus Christi, Texas; a brother, Roy Danahey and his wife Dolores, West Lake, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Michelene McCartney, Sharon; and LoLa Tokar and her husband Robert, Volant; a stepson, Ronald McCartney and his wife Christine, Fredonia; and six stepgrandchildren and 16 stepgreat-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, Carol was preceded in death by her parents.
