Robert T. Banhidi  1940 - 2017*

Robert T. Banhidi, age 76, of Lansing, Illinois passed away May 5, 2017. He is survived by his loving family. Private arrangements entrusted to Castle Hill Funeral Home of Dyer, Indiana.

* Note from his Daughter Janet:

Dear All,

My dad asked that I reach out to those on his contact list when he passed.  As you likely know, he was diagnosed with Leukemia this past summer and has spent the last 9 months fighting to survive. Several weeks ago he fell and fractured his pelvis and decided to come home for hospice.  Last Friday he took a turn for the worse and finally expired early this morning.  We have been blessed with time to ask questions, share stories and experience his love these last months.  Yesterday he had several visitors and was surrounded by many loved ones and he died early this morning.  On behalf of my family (mom=Karen, sister=Diane and I) I want to thank you all for your love, prayers and support.

He had asked me to pass on these words:  Do not be sad.  This happens to us all and he hopes that God blesses all of you.

We will have a memorial service Saturday May 13th at 11:00am Central at our Church.

Grace Church, Lansing
2740 Indiana Ave, Lansing IL 60438

So sorry for your loss, Karen. West Pullman usually had at least 2 classrooms for every grade and Bob and I were always in the same one. Quiet, but smart. So glad I had a chance to visit with him at the 50th
